Technical details
Description
News Feed Eradicator helps you regain control over your browsing by removing the most distracting element of social media: the never-ending news feed. Instead of getting lost in an endless scroll of updates, you'll see an inspirational quote whenever you visit supported sites. This allows you to stay connected with friends and use other features like messaging or notifications without falling into the attention trap.
Features
- Feed Removal: The extension automatically detects and removes the news feed on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. When you open these sites, the feed area is replaced with a motivational quote, preventing mindless scrolling.
- Preserves Core Functionality: You can still access all other parts of the site, such as profiles, groups, pages, direct messages, and search. This means you can use social media for its intended purposes-connecting with people-without the addictive feed.
- Inspirational Quotes: Each time the feed is removed, a new quote appears. These quotes are curated to inspire and remind you of more meaningful activities. The quotes are displayed in a clean, unobtrusive format.
- Supports Multiple Platforms: The extension works on popular social media sites including Facebook and Twitter. Check the screenshots in the Chrome Web Store listing for a full list of supported websites.
- Easy to Use: Once installed, the extension works automatically in the background. No configuration or setup is needed. You can enable or disable it at any time from the toolbar icon.
News Feed Eradicator is ideal for anyone who wants to reduce time spent on social media without completely deleting their accounts. It acts as a gentle nudge to refocus your attention, whether you're taking a quick break or trying to build healthier browsing habits. By removing the feed, you eliminate the primary source of endless content that often leads to hours of lost productivity.
