About

Extensions, Apps and Tools is an independent catalog of browser extensions and add-ons for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. We collect extensions in one place, organise them by category, and write plain-language guides so you can decide what is worth installing before you click "Add".

What we do

  • Curate. We group extensions by what they actually do — productivity, privacy, shopping, developer tools and more — so related tools sit side by side instead of being scattered across three different stores.
  • Explain. Every guide is written by a person. We describe what an extension does, which permissions it asks for, and the trade-offs involved, in language a non-technical reader can follow.
  • Keep it honest. We are not affiliated with Google, Mozilla or Microsoft. Extensions listed here link back to their official store pages — we never distribute extension files ourselves.

Why we built it

Browser stores are optimised for search, not for browsing. If you already know the exact name of the extension you want, they work fine. If you are trying to discover a good ad blocker, a reliable password manager, or a tool to capture full-page screenshots, you are mostly on your own — sorting through thousands of near-identical listings and fake reviews. Extensions, Apps and Tools exists to make that discovery step calmer and better informed.

How listings are chosen

We prioritise extensions that are actively maintained, request only the permissions they need, and solve a clearly-stated problem. When an extension has known privacy concerns or a history of ownership changes, we say so in the guide rather than quietly leaving it off the list.
